Our collection consists of more than 100,000 items which include reference, adult fiction and non-fiction, young adult fiction and non-fiction, junior fiction and non-fiction, picture books, DVDs and music CDs, audio books, magazines and newspapers. The library also has collections of materials for adult literacy and world languages. Online services include eAudiobooks and databases which are accessible within the library and from your home or office with your library barcode.**Some databases not currently available outside the library at this time.** DVD CollectionThanks to a generous donation from Canadian Natural in 2007, the public library expanded the current collection to include fiction and non-fiction DVDs. What is starting out as a small collection of DVDs continues to grow. For now, the collection is focused on feature films, award winners and classics but will be expanded to include non-fiction; incorporating documentaries, general interest and self-help. The loan period is 1 week with the exception of television series box sets which are allowed a 1 week extension.
Music CD CollectionAlso in 2007, the library added a music CD collection. There is a wide variety of music to choose from, including new music and classics for both adults and children. Paperback BooksAdult paperbacks are arranged by genre and then alphabetically by author for your browsing pleasure. Genre categories include westerns, mystery, romance, science fiction and fantasy, non-fiction and general fiction. Young adult and junior paperback collections are arranged alphabetically by author.Audio BooksPopular fiction and non-fiction titles are available on compact disc, these are available for loan to the general public. Audio books in the children's collection may include a read-along book.World Language CollectionFor those who wish to read in a language other than English, the World Language Collection consists of books in approximately thirty languages. The collection includes a variety of adult fiction and non-fiction titles and some children's books.
