DVDs and Music CDs
In an effort to make DVDs and Music CDs more accessible to everyone with a membership, restricted borrowing privileges have been instated. The following applies to the DVD and Music CD collections only:
Loan PeriodBooks and other materials (some restrictions apply) may be signed out for a three week loan period. For regular members, there are no restrictions on the number of books that may be signed out at one time. Borrowers must present their library card to sign out materials. The lending period can be extended by one week for residents of rural communities within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. HoldsThe hold system is available free of charge to Fort McMurray Public Library patrons. If the item that you want is signed out, a hold can be placed on the title. We will notify you when the item is returned and will hold it up to one week. You can place your own hold on the Internet through our Library Catalogue or, when you are in the library Information staff can do this for you. RenewalsYour library materials may be renewed to a maximum of three times in person, over the telephone, or on the Internet, providing a hold has not been placed on the material by another person, and your account is in good standing. ReturnsFor your convenience the library has one book drop which is located at the front of the building. Please do not use the book drop if it is full. Due to weather and the possibility of theft, patrons remain responsible for any lost or damaged items placed in the book drop until they are checked in by staff. Extended Use FeesA charge of $0.20 per day per item will be levied for materials returned after their due date. Fun Boxes accrue extended use fees of $1.00 per day. Interlibrary LoansIf the item you want to borrow is not a part of our collection, we will make every effort to obtain it from another lending institute. Click here for details. If you have any questions about memberships or borrowing items, please call the library's main line at 780-743-7800 to be directed to the appropriate department. |
